Cork is harvested from the bark of cork oak trees, primarily in Mediterranean countries like Portugal, Spain, and Italy. The process involves carefully stripping the outer bark without causing harm to the tree, or cutting them down. This allows the tree to continue growing and producing cork for centuries, making cork a truly renewable and sustainable resource.
